Aim

The aim of this training course is to provide participants with an approach to the contribution of the human element, in the prevention of pollution in the marine environment, as well as to educate, stimulate and empower merchant marine officers on board ships, contribute to sound emissions in the environment and ensure compliance with pollution prevention measures taken for these purposes..

Scope & Objective

The objective is to provide students with information to acquire the knowledge; understanding and competence necessary to achieve the objectives of the learning results to demonstrate their competence demonstrate enough knowledge corresponding to Regulations II/1, III/1, III/6, Sections A-II1, A-III/1, A-III/6 and Table A-II/1, A-III/1, A-III/6 of the STCW'78 Convention, as amended. This knowledge shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with pollution prevention requirements.

Entry Standards

The participant shall have:

  • Enjoy good health, justified by means of a medical certificate.
  • Submit evidence that you are taking or have completed the training in accordance with Tables A-II/1, A-III/1 and A-III/6 of the STCW´78 Convention, as amended and the STCW Code

Medical Standard

As per M.S (Medical Examination for seafarers) Rules 2000 as amended from time to time.

Course Certificate

Once the course has been successfully completed, the participant must receive a course completion document in "Marine Environmental Awareness”, in accordance with the Regulations II/1, III/1, III/6, Sections A-II1, A-III/1, A-III/6 and Table A-II/1, A-III/1, A-III/6 of the STCW´78 Convention, as amended and its STCW Code.

Intake

Not Above 30 per class

Required Attendance

100% attendance is required for successful completion of the Course. However, in exceptional circumstances the relaxation can be given for genuine reasons

Passing Percentage

70 % or Above

Holidays

Sundays & Govt. Holidays

Exam

A test will be conducted on completion of the Course.

Re Exam

The Student will be given two more attempts if score below 70 %. In case if the student fails to get 70 % or above he needs to join the Course as Fresh.

Certificate

After Successfully completion and Passing of Exam A certificate will be issued to the Student certifying that he has successfully completed the Course.
